Job Description Summary
The GE Aviation Electrical Power business is leading the way in the application of advanced technologies towards the development and delivery of high-performance power electronics products for aerospace, military ground vehicle, and industrial hybrid vehicle applications. In this role you will be leading and growing a talented power module team driving the implementation of our advanced power technologies including Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFETS, SiC/GaN power modules, and semiconductor packaging into new products and markets.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

• As Sub-Section Manager, you will lead SiC power module team that comprises roughly 3-5 engineers and designers.
• You will plan, drive and coordinate critical development activities including requirements definition, architecture, design, integration, verification and validation.
• You will support unit-level, customer and platform testing to ensure successful qualification, certification, entry into service, and be responsible for cost and schedule of all power module related activities.
• Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel
• Drive SiC power Module development to provide state-of-the-art power module solutions for internal and external customers
• Lead SiC module team to optimize resources utilizing efficiency to ensure on-time SiC module delivery
• Provide the technical focus on the strategic business plans for SiC module commercialization
• Take responsibility on SiC module strategic development plans as power semiconductor technical leader
• Support unit-level, customer and platform testing to ensure successful certification and entry into service
• Oversee IRAD projects and direct GRC team on SiC power development
• Establish work group goals within framework of section technical and financial objectives
• Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
• Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel
• Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching, and counseling
  
  Required Qualifications
  
  • Materials Science or Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering leadership, project management or technical leader role within an engineering environment
    
    Desired Characteristics
    
    • Previous experience in development of Aerospace and Military Electrical Power Conversion products & technology
    • Previous experience with power semiconductors, SiC MOSFETs, power modules
    • High Voltage electronics packaging experience
    • Effective team building and project management ability
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
