Description: A construction supply distributor with multiple locations across the country. The location in WPB, FL is seeking a forklift operator for the warehouse to assist in shipping and receiving. Manual inventory and order pulling will be done. Candidate will be operating multiple forklifts. Prefer to have experience with sit down and cherry picker. This is a temp assignment 1- 2 months. Could be long term if they have reach truck experience that is helpful as well, not guaranteed. All Warehouse/Distribution Center employees are responsible for efficient operation of the Distribution Center and maintenance of proper safety conditions in such a manner as to successfully serve the customers by timely and proper shipments of materials, and doing so in a manner that recognizes the essential need of teamwork and accuracy --- The security and quantity accuracy of physical inventory --- The environmental safety of the materials stored and handled --- The safe operation of all equipment, including fork lifts, pallet jacks, dock levelers, ladders, safety equipment, mixing equipment, pallet wrapping tools and hand tools --- The timely and accurate receiving, storing and shipping of materials, including physical count and documentation records, such as shipping and receiving records --- The safe storage of materials, including consideration of weight and stability of the packaging on a pallet --- The identification, elimination and immediate formal reporting of all observed hazardous or unsafe conditions, particularly including those involving equipment, facilities and storage procedures --- The maintenance of the Distribution Center facilities in a clean and orderly appearance, including interior and exterior spaces --- The preparation of the Distribution Center for, and the participation in, the physical inventories of the Distribution Center, which inventories are normally done twice a year on a prescheduled weekend basis ---The ordering of Distribution Center supplies, to include strapping tape, shipping labels, and paper goods for general use --- Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job --- Has flexibility as to method, priority and timing of job duties --- Ability and means to travel as needed for delivery of materials to jobsites or customer facilities and participation in periodic branch inventories --- The maintenance of a neat and clean personal appearance, commensurate with the obvious recognition of the nature of the Distribution Center work warehouse worker - forklift or reach truck or cherry picker exp. Reach truck and cherry picker experience preferred (one or the other) service with customer pick ups Skills: forktlift, Forklift, Inventory, Packing, Stand up, Material handling, Picking, Sitdown, Sit down forklift, Shipping and receiving, Order picking, Reach truck, Forklift operating, Stand up forklift, reach forklift Top Skills Details: forktlift Additional Skills & Qualifications: Forklift- 1 year Cherry Picker- 1 year Order Pulling- 1 year experience with building pallets and some customer service as they provide the the orders to customers pulling up. PPE - steel toes steel-toed boots please M-F 1st shift Qualifications and Education Requirements: --- Some work experience in related field preferred. --- High School Diploma/equivalency. --- Bilingual preferred. (Spanish) For specific branches. --- Has flexibility as to method, priority and timing of job duties. --- Ability and means to travel as needed for delivery of materials to jobsites or customer facilities and participation in periodic branch inventories. (Would need to provide proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used.)
