Job Description: The Respiratory Therapist provides treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies. The tasks and responsibilities include:\tDelivers and assesses responses to ordered therapy per plan of care including routine and intensive therapy and diagnostic procedures.\tUtilizes various types of oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment such as masks, tents and incubators.\tAdministers prescribed doses of medicinal gases and aerosol drugs\tMeasures ventilator volumes, pressures and blood gas analysis\tMonitors, records, and communicates patient condition and general acceptance of treatment.\tPerforms a variety of duties related to setting up, operating, cleaning, sterilizing, and storing respiratory therapy equipment\tEducates patients and family members and provides information about community support groups and other available programs\tMust be current Florida Licensed RRT\tMust have Current Level 2 or Level 3 NICU Experience.\t3 Years of Respiratory Therapy Experience Required\tBLS or BCLS Certification Required\tACLS or ALS & NRP and PALS Certifications within 2 months of hire\tFrequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling and moving equipment\tMust be able to treat adults, pediatrics, and newborns.\tRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
