Job Description - Quality Assurance ManagerPurpose: The Quality Assurance Manager is the quality advocate for the plant, providing leadership for the quality and food safety systems and programs. Key drivers are assuring compliance to specification on incoming materials, in-process conditions and finished products.NOTE: If anyone is absent, then the org chart outlines that the next person above/below is in charge.-- This is determined by senior management.--PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Serves as the companies designated SQF Practitioner.Serves as the secondary contact for all Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory issues.Assists as the secondary point person and overall training coordinator. Will be required to develop and give trainings to staffDevelops, implements, and manages the Quality and Food Safety System.Develops, maintains and ensures compliance of a qualified HACCP program.Ensures the effectiveness of the Master Sanitation and Pest Control programs for the facility and any associated food grade storage areasAnalyzes QA data to measure, assess, and improve product quality performance.Manage Quality Assurance, Operations, and controlled documentation through our quality software system.Communicates compliance results to operating groups, ensures timely feedback and provides technical support to operate processes at target.Utilizes customer and consumer complaint data to identify root cause, then communicates and provides support to implement process/product improvements.Determines the disposition of all raw materials, packaging and finished product HOLD orders.Develops a Quality and Product Safety System that consistently meets regulatory, customer, and third-party audit requirements.Experience in multitasking related to Modules 2 and 11 for SQF Certification.Must be comfortable delivering trainings and verbal reviews in front of groups of peopleExperience in environmental monitoring with swabbing techniques, analysis and result reviewExperience with Kosher products and Organic productsCan effectively demonstrate proficiency in mock recalls, business continuity and food defenseOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Food Safety Production Areas:------- Perform all duties necessary to meet current SQF Edition 9 requirements and SQF Edition 10 requirements when implemented in 2025. Company, and/ or Government Food Safety regulatory requirements and standards as prioritized by the Company.--- Inform Management of ANY Food Safety or Quality issues or of any processes, which become noncompliant with specified requirements.--- Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.--- Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.--- Controls further processing or delivery of nonconforming products in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. ----Minimum Certifications, Experience, and EducationBachelor's degree in science-related field7-10yr in Food Manufacturing or CPG IndustryPCQI - Preventative Controls Qualified IndividualHACCP CertifiedInternal Auditor CertifiedGFSI Experience required (Preferably in SQFI)Lean Six Sigma Experience (Preferred)
