Job SummaryThe Director of Operations provides leadership and strategy for all CT Americas Operations, including production, material planning, supply chain, quality, test engineering, repairs and warehouse. This position is responsible for building and leading teams that will meet and exceed safety, quality, service, productivity and financial goals while inspiring a culture that embraces a customer first attitude, teamwork, accountability, employee development and open communication. • Customer Focus: Collaborate with key business leaders to drive focus on the customer in everything we do
• Forecasting Customer Needs: Develop & execute an operating system for demand and supply materials planning (operationalize SIOP)
• Technology: Develop & deploy a technology strategy enabling operational excellence in collaboration with IT for Operations and the Supply Chain
• Quality: Ensure that manufacturing capabilities and quality levels meet or exceed Company requirements, customer needs and financial goals
• Health and Safety: Responsible for the overall safety and health of all company employees through an active safety management program
• Operational Excellence: Participate and drive NIDEC corporate objectives for 3Q6S
• Risk Mitigation: Develop and champion risk mitigation strategies to guarantee continuity of operations and supply
• Budget and Investment: Partner with Finance to maintain ongoing control of cost and to propose facility and operational capital investments inline with business objectives
• People: Partner with HR to develop a leader succession plan for this and other key Operations and Supply Chain roles
• People: Create, develop and deploy an organizational construct to drive process consistency and accountability
• Leadership: As a key member of the leadership team, balance strategic and tactical activities as necessaryAdditional Job DetailsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, manufacturing or business is preferred. Master's degree is desirable.
  • Ten or more years of progressive Manufacturing experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Experience managing a P&L is strongly preferred
  • Strong business acumen and a proven track record of achieving financial and operational results
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including team building, coaching and the ability to motivate people
  • Must be a highly results oriented and customer focused individual
  • Lean Six Sigma experience is preferred
