As the American subsidiary of MAN Truck & Bus SE, MEC is delivering MAN "high speed" marine engines to its distributors and major boat builders, catering to their power and propulsion requirements. A network of 65 dealers in this territory ensures first class service for MAN Marine Diesel engines. MAN Engines & Components Inc. is also the exclusive importer of Off-Road / Industrial diesel and gas engines for construction equipment, agricultural machinery and power generation including CHP (combined heat and power) applications. Heavy duty truck and bus axles are being assembled at our Pompano Beach facility as well and shipped to our North American customers, along with high quality chassis components and transfer cases completing our current US product portfolio.. Our mission is Simplifying customer business through leading sustainable solutions.. We are seeking a new Engineering Technician to join our team. Your role will be to Support the expanding MAN Off Road engines business in the US with experience in diesel engines including aftertreatment technology. With customer satisfaction in focus, this position is instrumental in supporting prototype installation, application engineering and test/certification projects in conjunction with our customers and in accordance with regulatory requirements. Fundamental functions of the Engineer are: being the technical resource and point of contact for the field test and development projects, work with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, you must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions to complex problems and all technical and certification related issues to assure regulatory compliance and complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the product development process. The engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with the authorities (EPA, CARB and others), customers and international technical and project management teams involved throughout the development and certification cycle.. As a member of the Engines & certification department, you will work with Service Engineers and report to our Director, Off Road Engines & Certification US. What You Will Do: --- Act as primary point of contact for all technical and certification related requirements including troubleshooting support for all certification related test projects --- Analyze field test data, compile reports and operate as a technical advisor to our customers and the technical project teams --- Responsible for service and production ramp up support at customer sites and in the field --- Support all engine development and test projects hands on and act as the communication interface to the technical project teams and the project management teams domestic and international --- Evaluate customer specifications and data sheets and interpret data to advise sales develop technical quotation, technical drawings, schematics and reports What You Will Bring: Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills: Bachelor's Degree Read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings and data. Write technical reports and presentations Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to travel internationally and domestic - up to 50% Advanced mathematical skills Excellent reasoning skills: Ability to solve complex problems and deal with variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
