Ascendo Resources is working with a Private-Equity backed company in Pompano Beach that is looking for a new Controller!

Strong audit background is encouraged, this is an on-site position!

How you'll make an impact:

• Manage monthly, quarterly, year-end close process ensuring timeliness and accuracy of reporting. This includes journal entries, adjusting entries, maintenance of the general ledger and the associated sub-ledgers, internal financial reporting, and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Ensure all company financial records are properly maintained and that all accounting and internal financial reporting are in compliance with US GAAP
• Review financial results, identify, research and report variances, and provide executive leadership with information that enhances their understanding of the financial results.
• Evaluate current processes and suggest, implement and refine policies and procedures to optimize efficiencies related to close activities.
• Responsible for, along with the Controller, providing ongoing, timely, candid and constructive feedback to junior members of the accounting function
• Assist in the coordination of quarterly reviews and annual audits client requests from both internal and external auditors
• Coordinate and lead internal team meetings, as necessary
• Support the executive team with ad hoc requests and special projects, particularly in support of key business items and strategic priorities What makes you a great candidate:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting required, Master's degree is preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate accounting related role(s)
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Proven and demonstrable ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Experience in managing multiple staff personnel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and critical reasoning skills
