Job Description:

Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports by performing the following duties:Assist in the daily operations of the Accounting Department, participate with monthly reporting of cash and financial statements, maintain accurate and updated accounting subsidiary schedules and general ledgers.Record daily/weekly/monthly journal entries.Prepare financial accounts for monthly review.Ensure all tax records are correct and up to date.G/L Balance Sheet and P&L accounts, reconciliations.Maintain and update fixed asset records.Managing company cash flow and bank balances.Overseeing both internal and external corporate and subsidiary audits.Preparing and managing annual FASS-FHA audits and following HUD financial regulations and policies.Quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting (Federal, Multi-State, Local).Maintaining multi-property financial statements (consolidated and individual).Prepare data to be used for annual budgets, year end audits, and special projects as needed.Full-cycle month-end, quarterly-end, and year-end close activities to include a detailed review and financial statement preparation with associated supporting schedules by deadlines.Forecast cash flow for effective cash management.Assists with various special projects.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in AccountingMinimum 5 years of direct accounting experience with multi-property Real Estate/Property Management firmFull understanding of GAAP accounting processesSolid knowledge of YARDI Voyager property management systemAdvanced knowledge of MS ExcelAbility to manage deadlines and work in a high pressure environmentDisplay exemplary ethical behavior when working with confidential financial documents.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with staff membersIND 123EducationPreferredBachelors or better in AccountingSkillsPreferredAbility to multi-taskAbility to compile data and create reports
